Serbian documentary-feature film “Seven days that changed the century” Boško Savković, was awarded in the “History and Personalities” category at the prestigious Cannes Festival of Corporate Media and Television. The author was presented with a Finalist Certificate Charter.

    A thousand movies

Savković’s film was awarded in a competition of a thousand films, among which were the world’s largest producers.

The film was realized by Savković’s production company “Alternativa” and the Austrian company ArtMedija. According to the author, “the state of Serbia invested almost nothing in this film.”

This is Boško Savković’s third award in Cannes. He was awarded the Golden Dolphin for the first time in 2011 for the film “Fruits of Winter”, and in 2013 the Silver Dolphin for the film “After the Bombs”. He is known to the general public as being conditionally accused of subverting the constitutional order for carrying Vučić’s doll at the protest.

Using documentary film language, using newly discovered documents, Savković told the story of the beginning and end of the First World War.

    Changing history

According to the author, the film documents that the war did not start in Sarajevo but in Belgrade on July 28 with the attack on Belgrade, where the first victims fell – Dušan Đonović from our side and Ištvan Balohis from the Austro-Hungarian side.

The film also documents that the First World War did not end on November 11, 1918, which is marked as the end of that war, but in the building of the National Museum in Belgrade, with the signing of the Belgrade Armistice on November 13 shortly before midnight, when Duke Živojin Mišić and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and the Army Bela Linder signed the last document on the armistice between Hungary and Serbia.

    The premiere

The premiere of the film took place in September 2025 in Brussels, organized by the European Economic and Social Council.

The film was never premiered in Serbia, except for a closed screening for diplomats and journalists at the European House in Belgrade. According to the author, the premiere scheduled at the Sava Center for November 13, 2025 was canceled for unknown reasons.

The film stars Dragan Vujić Vujke, Milan Milosavljević, Danica Radulović, Tomislav Bukatarević, as well as acting students of the Academy of Arts in Belgrade.
