Out of the 13 Atalanta representatives called up for the September/October international window, seven Nerazzurri were involved in Friday 25 September’s UEFA Nations League action, with five taking to the pitch.
In Rome, Belgium ran out 2-0 winners over Italy, with Charles De Ketelaere starting for the visitors before making way in the 84th minute. On the Azzurri side, Giorgio Scalvini came on in the 65th minute, while Marco Carnesecchi, Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca were unused substitutes.
Nikola Krstović played a starring role in Montenegro’s 2-1 comeback win over Cyprus, scoring the equaliser in the 66th minute before providing the assist for the winner. The Nerazzurri striker was then subbed off in the 89th minute.
Nicola Zalewski and Sead Kolašinac also went head-to-head as Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina played out a goalless draw. Zalewski came on in the 24th minute, while Kolašinac captained Bosnia and Herzegovina for the full 90 minutes.
Tomorrow, Saturday 26 September, Mario Pašalić and Eljif Elmas will be the next Nerazzurri in action: Croatia visit the Czech Republic in Prague, while North Macedonia host Switzerland in Skopje.
