Tunis, Sept. 26 (SANA) Syria’s General Authority for Radio and Television won four awards at the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia, recognizing four of its television and radio productions.
The authority won first prize for the film “Azem Palace” in the television program exchange competition, while “Nation of Letters” took second prize in the radio program exchange competition.
Damascus Radio’s “Outside the Game” won first prize in the festival’s main radio competitions, while “The Young Presenter” received second prize in the same category.
Information Minister Khaled Zaarour said on X that the four awards reflected the skills of the authority’s staff and its efforts to develop its work and adapt to digital media. He said the Syrian pavilion highlighted the country’s established audiovisual identity while incorporating interactive tools.
The authority’s Director General Alaa Barsilo said the results recognized the work of the teams behind the productions and demonstrated the ability of Syrian media productions to compete at Arab and international events.
Barsilo said the authority had strengthened its presence at the festival in less than two years, securing awards and leading positions that reflected the judging panels’ assessment of the Syrian entries.
The festival’s 26th edition concluded with a ceremony at the City of Culture Chedli Klibi in Tunis, attended by Tunisian Cultural Affairs Minister Amina Srarfi and participating Arab delegations.
Held under the slogan “The Pulse of the Image and the Echo of the Future,” the festival featured 300 radio and television productions submitted by broadcasting organizations belonging to the Arab States Broadcasting Union, alongside private Arabic-language international channels from China, Russia and Türkiye.
