On Sunday evening, September 27, Romania scrambled two F-16 fighter jets in response to an aerial target near the border with Ukraine. The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported the incident.

What is known about the aerial target near the border
Romanian radar first detected the target in Ukrainian territory, north of the commune of Chilia Veche. The fighter jets took off from the 86th Borșa Air Base to monitor the situation.
According to radar data, the target entered Romanian airspace near the commune of Chatalchioi and moved along the border. About 10 minutes later, its signal disappeared near the village of Somova.
At 8:35 p.m., an RO-Alert warning was sent to Tulcea County. The air raid alert was lifted at 10:05 p.m.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense said that a specialized team would arrive at the site on Monday, September 28, to investigate. The ministry did not specify what the detected target was.
