Stark Group has opened a new national distribution centre in Greater Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of its strategy to expand its logistics capabilities and create a more efficient and scalable distribution network.

The new facility builds on the group’s experience with its central warehouse in Eskilstuna, Sweden, which opened in 2024. Over time, the Danish distribution centre will provide access to up to 50,000 products and improve availability across Stark Group’s Danish branch network.
From its Greater Copenhagen location, the company expects to offer next-day delivery across Denmark, with 35% of Danish customers located within one hour of the facility. The increased capacity will also allow Stark Group to expand its offering of light building materials, a segment where the group has historically held a smaller market share.
‘With the new distribution centre, we are using our scale as a Group to serve our customers better. We can offer a broader range, greater product availability and faster delivery,’ said Søren P. Olesen, CEO of Stark Group. ‘At the same time, we are strengthening our position in light building materials, where we see significant potential.’
The distribution centre is designed to create efficiencies across the supply chain. Suppliers can increasingly deliver products to one national hub rather than multiple local locations, while STARK Group can consolidate volumes and manage product flows more efficiently.

The facility is highly automated and incorporates AutoStore technology to support faster product handling and distribution. The building has also been pre-certified to DGNB Gold and incorporates materials including glulam timber, recycled steel and a sedum roof.
Stark Group said the Danish facility also reflects its approach of transferring experience between markets. ‘We have built valuable experience in Sweden and are now taking another major step in Denmark,’ said Olesen.
Headquartered in Denmark, Stark Group operates more than 1,050 branches across Germany, Austria, the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. The group serves around 450,000 customers and works with approximately 15,000 suppliers.
