UFC Fight Night Sydney (or just UFC Sydney) was announced this week, and will take place at the AfterPay Arena in Sydney on February 6, 2027.
The event is the first to be announced, officially or otherwise, for the promotion in 2027. No fights have been revealed for the card, which marks the ninth time the company has visited the city.
What stands out in this case is the Fight Night nature of the event. The UFC’s last three trips to Sydney were all numbered events, headlined by the likes of Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya, among others. The last Fight Night card held in Sydney came in 2017, when Marcin Tybura and Fabricio Werdum served as a heavyweight headliner at the very same venue, then known as the Qudos Bank Arena.
Volkanovski is set to headline UFC 333 next month, making the date too quick a turnaround for the featherweight champ. More likely to take part are rising Australian stars like Quillan Salkilld, who recently headlined his first UFC event, defeating Mateusz Gamrot in August.
Expect fights for February’s UFC Sydney to be revealed in the coming weeks.
