POLAND, Maine —
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with identifying a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash in the town of Poland.
Officials said the hit-and-run happened at about 6:58 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Maine Street and Aggregate Road.
The suspect is believed to be a dark-colored 2018-20 Audi Q5 or SQ5 that is equipped with a roof rack.
The Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle involved in the crash is expected to have damage to the front corner of the driver’s side, as a piece of the vehicle’s bumper grille from the driver’s side was recovered at the crash scene.
Authorities are asking anyone who has information regarding a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description, recently observed a vehicle with the corresponding damage or has relevant surveillance/dashboard camera footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Deputy Darian Nadeau by calling 207-753-2599 or sending an email to dnadeau@androscoggincountymaine.gov.
