TRM, the Moldovan national broadcaster, has confirmed that Moldova will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas.
Moldova is the 32nd and latest country to confirm their participation in the 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place next May in Burgas. The news was communicated directly to ESCSpot by Veronica Cojocaru, Head of Delegation for Moldova at Eurovision 2026. Cojocaru also added that detailed information about the representative and song selection process will be provided at a later date.
On an additional note, Vitalie Cojocaru has been appointed as the new head of the Moldovan delegation at Eurovision, having previously held this role in 2008-2011, 2013, 2015, and continuously from 2018 to 2022.
Moldova made its return to Eurovision last year in Vienna, after the one-year absence during the 2025 edition in Basel due to a lack of quality in the selection of artists who were willing to participate, and because of budgetary issues. Last year, Moldova reached the final again, after staying behind in the semi-final in 2024, with Satoshi and his song “Viva Moldova”. In the final, the country reached 8th place out of 25 acts.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv. Moldova’s best result in the contest is 3rd place in 2017 for Sunstroke Project with “Hey Mamma!”. This was the second time the group had represented their country in Eurovision. Moldova has been represented by several artists who have competed in the contest before, with five acts having represented Moldova a combined eleven times. After a one-year hiatus in 2025, Moldova returned to the competition and finished 8th.
