    1. I’m pretty glad. That speech and tribute he had after the doubles with Jamie was a fantastic way to leave Wimbledon. One of my favourite sportsmen of all time who can finally give his body a rest

Come on! Slap a wristguard on and play with the OG. I mean it’s Murray for Christ’s sake. That’s an irreplaceable experience for a young Brit player, who isn’t very likely to make the semi finals even :/

A shame he’ll miss his 47th farewell to professional tennis.

Love the guy and it’s a shame but it’s the right decision for her.

I don’t follow tennis and I’m not on social media (apart from Reddit), but this headline makes me think Emma Radacanu will be blasted on social media. I wish news agencies were more careful with their choice of headlines.

I feel like Emma Raducanu is one of those who would eat herself if she was made of chocolate.

Tbh rightly so, his speech the other day, pretty much said he cannot play anymore and Emma needs to focus on the singles. It’s the right decision for both.

Would have been pretty cool to have the two modern UK singles Slam winners compete together.

Focussing on singles doesn’t look like a terrible shout by Raducanu though. Looking at the potential run to the semis, it’s not certain, but equally not crazy.

And it‘s sweet that Murray got to go out playing a match alongside his brother on Centre.

Out of the loop, but was there a decent chance they’d have won the title?

    9. I feel like Emma Raducanu is a real flash in the pan. Not saying she’s not talented she clearly is but that win clearly didn’t do her any favours and was too much too soon, her body also doesn’t seem to be able to handle it.

I think she’ll be a real what could have been story in the future

    10. Makes sense from Raducanu’s perspective to give herself the best chance possible for the women’s singles. Even if she doesnt make it to the final there’s still ranking points to be gained (shes ranked well over 100 at the moment).

and Murray’s playing at Paris ’24, so it wouldn’t have been his final farewell anyway

Why the hell would she jeopardise the opportunity to go on a deep run at Wimbledon? Right decision.

Dropping her trainers. Now dropping her tennis partner. Let’s hope she doesn’t have to carry anything expensive

BBC can stop sending me alerts about a person who had no chance.
