Education is once again building bridges between Spain and the United States. Miami Dade College (MDC), one of the most important institutions of higher education in the United States, and CIS University have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Madrid that ushers in a new era of academic collaboration between the two countries. The agreement, signed by the president of CIS University, Dr. María Díaz de la Cebosa, and the president of Miami Dade College, Dr. Madeline Pumariega, provides for the development of joint projects in research, entrepreneurship, and academic exchange, with the establishment of The Idea Center on the Madrid campus as its central focus.

Both institutions have been collaborating for years on various educational and social initiatives, particularly through the Camino de Santiago Program, in which Miami Dade College students share an experience of leadership and cultural exchange alongside young Spaniards and international students.

With this new agreement, Miami Dade College will, for the first time, bring the The Idea Center model to Spain: an entrepreneurship space where students, researchers, and companies will develop high-impact projects, using emerging technology as a cross-cutting learning tool. The goal is for students to transform ideas into viable business projects, developing leadership, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills.

Starting in the next academic year, both universities will also launch exchange programs for students, researchers, and faculty, promoting international mobility and the development of joint projects in applied research and digital transformation.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we learn and work, but true leadership will continue to depend on people. Our commitment is to train professionals capable of using technology with judgment, creativity, and responsibility,” states Dr. María Díaz de la Cebosa, president of CIS University.

With this agreement, Madrid establishes itself as a meeting point between two academic leaders, and CIS University becomes one of the first European university campuses to integrate The Idea Center model, fostering the creation of international networks among students, companies, and institutions.
