LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man outside a business in downtown Las Vegas on September.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said detectives were able to identify 40-year-old Hyland Harper as the suspect.

Harper was located and arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Dallas, Texas.

Harper was booked into the Tarrant County Jail, where he will await extradition back to Las Vegas for open murder with a deadly weapon.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, LVMPD responded to a report of a stabbing in a business parking lot in the 70 block of West Imperial Avenue.

Officers found a man lying in the lot suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the victim was escorted out of a business and was involved in an altercation outside, where he was stabbed.

The suspect, now identified as Harper, fled the scene before officers arrived.
