M. R. Štefánik Bratislava Airport (LZIB) designed by Flying Partners Slovakia is a work of passion for the team. The intention was to create the most accurate recreation of the most important airport of the country, created with photographic documentation, satellite imagery and accurate documentation provided by the AIP SR maps from July this year. It’s also a return to familiar ground for the Slovak studio, which released a freeware version of LZIB for MSFS back in 2021. The result is a very detailed and true-to-life airport bringing you to this historical airport in style. It joins Aerosoft’s Bratislava Airport, released for MSFS in 2022, and the Bratislava helipads that followed in 2024.

The historical records show that the construction of this particular airport began in 1947, having two runways (04-22 and the perpendicular 13-31) that are still in use today. During the 1980s, both runways were extended, while from the 1990s onwards, most of the buildings were continuously expanded and revised, aiming for better passenger flow. A good example was the new terminal being constructed by 1994 and more expansion work occurring in the 2000s. With modernization happening to this day, the Bratislava Airport continues to grow.
