MALTA — A 24-year-old Malta man is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly injured an infant, requiring it to be hospitalized.
Aylan Yousen was charged Saturday with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, State Police said in a news release Tuesday.
Troopers were contacted a day earlier after the infant was brought to Albany Medical Center with multiple unexplained injuries, including several broken bones. An investigation determined Yousen had injured the baby, according to State Police. The injuries were found not to be life-threatening.
Yousen was arraigned at Malta Town Court and sent to Saratoga County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, troopers said. He is due back in court Thursday morning. A call to the Saratoga County Public Defender’s Office was not immediately returned.
