Ah just what Manchester needs more luxury housing to attract more people to come live here and further exacerbate the housing crisis that’s ongoing and growing worse here.
I know it says they’re building more affordable housing as it says in the article but it doesn’t even make a dent with how many people are now moving here from down south and abroad. What we actually need is a major focus on affordable housing as rents in Manchester like everywhere else have risen ridiculously in recent years not further gentrification to justify increasing rents even more.

Doesn’t matter, no more listening to people who don’t want homes built. Their “residents’ voices” are irrelevant, their opinions are stupid, let’s get on with building.

Building planners here ya. Building planners don’t care.

I dislike the way Manchester is starting to look but I think those of us who don’t love endless tall glass boxes have long lost the war

We own the sky. And now userpers seek to steal what is ours. If they dare climb to our height we will show them who the true sky kings are.

Those are pretty long ladders they’re pulling up behind themselves. 🪜

They’re probably worried that their apartments will lose value if another one is built in the direct view of theirs, but they are trying to mask that true reason with more polite reasons.

Beetham Tower residents probably giggling a little.
