Fines? How does that help anyone? Unless they claw those bonuses back to pay them.

Criminal prosecution is what’s in order, not golden handshakes and fines the customers will end up paying.

    2. Step 1: Issue fines for failure to deliver services to legal quality minimums to the extent they would be backrupt
Step 2: Government steps in to nationalise, shareholder value is nil so no expensive share buy back required

These water execs need to be in jail they have dropped literally billions of litres of sewage into our rivers illegally and killed scores of our natural wildlife. You can’t even swim in many rivers in England because they are literally clogged with shit.

If I was caught dumping my personal sewage in the closest river to their HQ, I would be arrested and charged.
If you do it through a water company you get a bigger bonus in your pay packet and laugh all the way to the bank then when you leave, you go and take a job up at the water regulator.

These companies need forcibly nationalised as it’s the only solution left.

They have debts in the tens of billions, so the companies would be valued at a square value of crap all, just like northern rock was- it doesn’t exactly need to be hard or costly to do this.

    4. Nationalise them all. Water being a private interest is utterly absurd, it’s an essential resource.

Be sure the executives can’t leave the country until they’ve been squeezed for every penny too.
