If this leads to a situation where Pret coffee doesn’t taste like coal extract anymore, I’m in favour of this. Otherwise, it’s not worth it even with a 50% discount.

Good, small coffee shops can’t afford to compete when prêt has such a ridiculous offer.

Even 1 cup a day for £30pm was never going to be sustainable.

Used to use this when it was cheaper until I realised you can walk into any casino and just get unlimited free coffee there

I used to sign up for the month free trial with a new email address and virtual card every month 😆

Their coffee is over roasted (ie burned), low quality shit anyway. Support your local independent cafés using good quality, traceable and sustainable coffees.
Out of all the high street coffees I’ve tried, pret’s were consistently the worst.

To be honest I’m not surprised, I absolutely abused this when I used to work near one.
Morning coffee
Morning smoothie
Lunchtime coffee
Afternoon smoothie
Late afternoon coffee
And I wondered why I put on weight.
Probably didn’t help that people would share codes as well, or pick up drinks for our colleagues.
Also if anyone is affected by this, Leon do a £25 coffee subscription and their coffee is much nicer.

i remember when i was in college we had a pret nearby and a lot of the students in my class took advantage of the subscription and got a few drinks a day. was brilliant for them and definitely worth it in the end since it was used nearly everyday, sad i never took advantage of it myself.

Does anyone know what happened to Costa Coffee? They changed the beans last year to a very dark roast and everything is undrinkable there now. Or I’m a coffee snob. Hard to tell these days. Anyway, Pret actually lost my business recently due to the two tier pricing. I’m not going to buy a sandwich knowing the guy standing behind me is getting it cheaper. I stopped going. Can’t have been the only one.

Always seemed ridiculous to me anyway. £30 a month on coffee is a ridiculous amount to spend. And yes, if you’re getting one on your way to work every morning, that’s a lot to spend too.
It’s amazing how people on this sub seem to defend paying £4 for a coffee more than once a day, but they refuse to go to the pub because it’s too expensive.

Never understand anyone who buys from Pret. It’s shite quality and ridiculously overpriced.
Will never forgive them for that they did to the far superior EAT chain.
Collapse.

> But the change comes after some customers abandoned their subscriptions saying they were “no longer worth it”.
> The deal could not be used in motorway service stations or abroad and there were complaints that some of the drinks on offer were rarely available.
> A clampdown on coffee drinkers sharing Pret accounts caused heavy criticism when customers experienced technical glitches with the company’s app. Some could not use their QR codes to claim their free drinks, while others said they had seen rewards removed from their apps.

I’ve nothing to add about Pret tbh but whilst we are on the subject of coffee can we all agree Tim Hortons is an absolute abomination?

Used to work in an office next to a Pret. I would have at least 4 drinks on the subscription per day

I tried the coffee subscription via trial because why not. Unfortunately their coffee sizes are small and the coffee tastes like ass unless you get sugary syrups in it.
So aye, not surprised they’ve stopped giving it away free or ‘free’ when it’s likely not converting or keeping people subscribed.
I’m sure simply charging a fortune for the dirt water is a better model.

Most of coffees in London taste awful. Coffee in France or the Czech Republic is totally another level. Never disappointed.

Well this has probably saved me from a caffeine related heart attack

Well that’s the end of me using Pret, used to be worth it for me now I’ll use independents or my office coffee shop. I know pret not greatest coffee but the subscription definitely was a money saver for me.
