    1. GP’s are clueless enough about things as it is, the amount of times I’ve been sent down to A&E over something that they could easily have diagnosed and treated by them. They don’t want the hassle, let emergency services deal with it, and if you’re only doing that, you don’t even need a doctor, just get someone with 2 years training in to do it instead. Brilliant.

    2. Patients will often ask for doctors when the issue they’re presenting with doesn’t need a doctor’s attention. There will be situations where a PA or nurse practitioner could deal with the issue perfectly adequately.

      As long as they’re seeing PAs under those circumstances, and the PA is transparent about what their job title is, I see no red flag here.

      The issues with PAs stem from when they LARP as doctors and overstep their training, sometimes with the blessing of their supervisors. That’s clearly terrible and needs to stop.
