Seems to strike the right balance to me. Some people need to keep qualifications up to date, and also to be honest I think some jobs help MPs remain grounded in working life. Working as a nurse will remind you of the state of the NHS, and the pressure people are under, etc for example.
I do think at some point a restriction on the number of hours spent in second jobs would make sense. If you’re working 40 hours a week on your second job you can’t be fulfilling your MP role to the best of your ability or a way your constituents deserve.
