My Dad was in the police and the number of stories of corruption he tells about his time there.

Apparently it was commonplace for perps being arrested by officers to suffer an ‘accidental’ trip to explain worse than expected injuries.

The ‘accidentally’ of course being the bloke getting bashed in the back of the van by a group of officers who would deny anything.

There are some real headcases in the forces who use their position of power as an opportunity to abuse others.

It’s a bit disconcerting that he’s only been charged with abusing public office. Do we genuinely not prosecute for theft/robbery any more?

I hope he goes away for a long time. That’s lower than low.

    3. Well, did he break another officers nose before collapsing and dying?

Obviously, any level of misconduct is okay as long as its in the name of vengeance.

    4. 1. The police should be paid enough that this isn’t even a fucking temptation or requirement.

      2. This ex-officer no longer meets the standards required of the police and should be dismissed (and prosecuted for theft on top of misconduct in public office).

    5. Every day I think more and more that the police set out to recruit such people. Just seems for each good there are two bad.

    6. I dont know why people work so hard to achieve good careers and then destroy it over something so stupid.

What’s the need? Don’t they get enough money? I mean, I wish I could get 37K in a kitchen without having to do 50+ hours.

I was arrested and put in the back of a van. I was cuffed. The cunt put his foot down on the accelerator and I went flying. I had gashed my head.

This all happened because yes, I was slightly drunk and tripped over a curb and they arrested me D&D but released me with no charge.

They advised me to go to the hospital, didn’t bother to take me.

      They are all cunts.

Oh and being a man and being date raped….dont bother they don’t believe you.

    9. Yet again I remind you all the police told us to ‘flag down a bus’ to avoid being kidnapped raped and murdered by the police. Not all the police are awful people but a few bad apples spoils the bunch.

    10. He’s being fired and charged for it rightly so.

But it also shows our police aren’t paid enough that officers would resort to doing that.

    11. People who think all cops or barely any cops are pricks, are dead wrong. A sizeable minority of people in society generally are pricks, we can agree on that.

When you factor in a positive multiplier for a profession that grants some level of power, and disproportionately attracts pricks as a result, you end up with a minority but substantially larger minority, of pricks.

It’s not much different to bouncers, even though that’s pretend power, because the barker to entry is lower. If 15% of people are pricks it might be 25% or 30% for cops, probably not most but certainly enough to be a noticeable issue.

It’s interesting to me reading some of the comments here, and also seeing people talking about the Manchester Airport incident recently, a lot of anti-police rhetoric has echoes of a lot of racist rhetoric.

    13. Met once again covering themselves in glory.

Just standard procedure these days it seems.

    14. Worst thing about this is that it gives all cops a bad name and it doesn’t help that bad media is publicised much more than good media because it sells better.

I’m a serving officer and it disgusts me every time someone acts like a lowlife piece of shit and disgraces us.
I shouldn’t have to prove to people I’m not corrupt, that should be a given.

We complain, we grumble, we’re all stressed and we end up on the sick at one point of another because of it, but we genuinely do care. My mental health is in the absolute shitter because of this job but I just push through every day in the hope that I make life even a little bit better for someone else.

Police break up and arrest people in London at a vigil for a woman assaulted by a policeman

Rape and assault women on the street and undress and assault women while in custody

Steal your money off your body once you’re dead like it’s GTA

      Never recover your stolen items

Take drugs and are racist on the job

Have been undressing and humiliating people being kept overnight at stations

Never give back any property recovered as evidence

And people want to say police are good people

After all this happens where are the POLICE WHO WHISTLEBLOW

Nowhere to be seen or heard of

    17. I have only known one police officer personally in my life, and they were an abusive piece of shit. They told me all about the antics of their corrupt colleagues as well. Police are rotten to the core.
