Hey all. I’d like to have a group of family and friends come together for the 2026 eclipse. Somewhere away from people and light pollution. I googled the best terms I can. I looked at vacation rentals. But have not found much. In the end – I am not an event organizer and know nothing about the rural inland Spain.

My main question would be. If I am looking to find a place that is well remote and beautiful where in the path of totality should I be looking? What are the natural highlights?

Are there search terms I should try to find places that can house (let’s say) 20 people for a few nights?

Sorry for an annoying touristy question. And thanks for any help you can provide.

    1. I think your best bet is the Balearic islands because of all the things they offer and their little light pollution

Why would light pollution matter during the day in a solar eclipse? (Hint: It doesn’t)

    3. Anywhere in the province of Soria. Light pollution ist minimal even 15km away from its capital

    4. The cheapest areas is in Burgos and Soria, plus marvellous landscapes and almost no one living there. Maybe “Las merindades” in Burgos province fits your request but remember is a quite cold area, close to what is called “the Spanish Siberia”. No light pollution. https://www.lasmerindades.com/es
Maybe you can take also a look to “Bardenas reales” in Navarra, a desertic area close to Pamplona or Almazan and Medinacelli in Soria, areas well prepared for tourists but very lightly occupied.
