NORMAN, OKLA (KOKH) — The Norman Regional Health System has been awarded the Gold Award from the Oklahoma Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (OPQIC).

Norman Regional was only one of six facilities out of 44 birthing hospitals in Oklahoma to be recognized for its high-quality perinatal care.

“The OPQIC Spotlight Awards give us the opportunity to publicly celebrate hospitals for their unwavering commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes,” said Denis Cole, MS, RNC-INC, C-ONQS, Assistant Director of OPQIC. “We are grateful for the dedication of Oklahoma Hospitals like Norman Regional.”

Norman Regional’s perinatal care includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and high-risk pregnancy management including a 24/7 Obstetrical Emergency Room.

“This award provides tangible evidence of the tremendous work by our perinatal physicians, nurses, therapists, and technicians,” said Tonya Faires, BSN, RNC-ONQS, Norman Regional’s Perinatal Centers of Excellence Program Administrator. “It reflects their shared goal of ensuring every family feels respected and cared for.”
