WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – With the area expecting its first real cold snap in the coming weeks, Atmos Energy shared ways to keep energy usage efficient as temperatures dip.
Managing appliance energy usage is one method, including running washing machines and dishwashers only when full and, lowering water heater temperature and not using pool heaters. Additionally closing fireplace dampers when the fireplace is not in use helps prevent heat from escaping.
Some options make for a bit more inconvenience, like lowering the thermostat and taking shorter showers.
