HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) – A week-long blood drive hosted by the Blood Center and Forrest Health concluded Friday night.
The blood drive took place at several locations in the Pine Belt. It wrapped up at 7 p.m. at Forrest General Hospital.
Blood Center personnel say more than 330 units of blood were collected.
They say donations of A-negative and O-negative blood are really needed right now.
“If you are O-negative, we need you desperately, if you’re A-negative (as well), all blood types are needed, but those negative factors, those are the ones that are compatible with others, so we need them coming out,” said Beverly Clark, account representative with The Blood Center.
The Blood Center will also take donations Saturday at its Hattiesburg Donor Center in The Arbor from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
