The UK’s Foreign Office has issued travel advice for those travelling to Sweden. The UK Government office has issued an update on the Scandinavian country, warning that there is a risk of terrorism.

    In the safety and security section of the Foreign Office’s website for Sweden, it notes that terrorists are likely to try and carry out attacks in Sweden. Its warning adds: “Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by foreign nationals.

    “The authorities in Sweden have successfully disrupted a number of planned attacks and made a number of arrests.” In regards to political demonstrations, it adds: “Demonstrations in Sweden are usually peaceful. Avoid demonstrations wherever possible and follow the advice of the local authorities.”

    According to the Foreign Office, there is a “high” threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British national as targets.
