MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A student who was hurt in the Abundant Life Christian School shooting was released Thursday afternoon, UW Health reported. The child is now recovering at home.
“The family would like to thank the countless UW Health Kids doctors, nurses and staff for saving their child’s life,” UW Health said in a statement.
One other patient remains at the hospital in good condition.
A teacher and a student were killed in the Dec. 16, 2024, shooting, and six people were injured. Four individuals were previously released from care. At one point, officials described the two students receiving in the hospital as being in critical condition.
Abundant Life Christian School students returned to school on January 10.
