MILWAUKIE Ore. (KPTV) – Wednesday was National Letter of Intent Day, and two La Salle Prep seniors signed on to compete in college.
Jacob Thayer is an all-state linebacker and defensive player of the year in the Northwest Oregon Conference. He holds the school’s record in bench press and will go to Western Oregon University in the fall.
Vance Sheffield will be on the Northern Illinois University’s soccer team in the fall.
“My favorite quote is from Clive Charles, it’s, ‘Leave a place better than you found it,’ and my goal has just been to leave La Salle better than when I came in, and I hope I did that on and off the field because the relationships are what’s going to carry and to make history here for my school and especially to see my name in there where I’ll come back in 30 years and hopefully be able to show my kids, it means a lot,” said Sheffield.
