      I dont see any issue with trying something like this as all the arguments against rent control are already happening.

      Rent stock is already massively depleted and there is already a huge shortage of housing. The quality of the stock available is already shit. We already aren’t building enough.

      I guess you could make the arguement that it could get even more shit, but it’s going to get even more shit anyway. I dont see the harm in at least trying it

      Has rent control been proven to work anywhere? Genuinely? I thought it was pretty widely known to be a bad idea that causes more problems than it solves.
