Like several times before, I have been called up as chairman of a counting bureau. No problem for me because it is a democratic obligation that I actually cooperate with without much complaint. I would like to make the counting by my counting agency as efficient as possible. Even more efficient than last time. I know that there are general instructions and that there is now a YouTube video about it. That is interesting general information, but it does not mention all the real tips and tricks. Hence my questions: 1. Are there seasoned chairmen of counting bureaus who can explain exactly what the control tests (‘cross-checks’) are that are carried out by the inspectors on the counting results? Then you know whether you are in the right place. These cross-checks also allow them to know whether certain agencies ‘got it right’. Not that I intend to make the results ‘correct’ (never have done so), but I do want to know for myself whether we are correct. I don’t want to wait in line for half an hour for the check only to be told what’s wrong. 2. There are also interim cross-check exercises to check whether you have made any counting errors. Does anyone know that? That also saves time. 3. Would there be people who have notes with tips about this? 4. Would there be people who have the aforementioned in Excel and would like to transfer this? I saw chairpersons of counting bureaus last time that had that but didn’t have the option to ask for a copy. 5. Are there any other tips?

Thanks in advance!
