Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni highlighted Greece’s potential as a reference center for Assisted Reproduction, as well as the strategic actions that have been taken to strengthen medical tourism, during her welcome speech at the 4th Panhellenic Symposium on Assisted Reproduction, with the participation of leading scientists and professionals in the sector.

The minister stated that Greece has been a pioneer in creating an institutional framework for the sector, with the adoption of legislation in 2002 and the significant improvements that occurred in 2005 with the creation of the National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction.

Referring to the strategy for medical tourism, Kefalogianni highlighted the initiatives that have been undertaken to form a strong Greek brand.

“Greece has a combination of a progressive institutional framework, modern infrastructure and, of course, high-level scientific personnel, elements that make it one of the most attractive destinations for women and couples from Europe, but also other parts of the world, who want to become parents,” emphasised the tourism minister.
