Marousakis on the Weather for the Next Few Days: Heat, African Dust, Southerly Winds, and Fog
High temperatures, African dust, and widespread sea fog are still expected.
Where Will the Mercury Reach 26 and 28 Degrees Celsius?
Marousakis makes a surprising prediction, suggesting it’s not out of the question that temperatures in Greece could reach 26 to 28 degrees Celsius next week. He specifically highlights that the eastern mainland and northern Crete are the areas most likely to experience such temperatures.
He explains that these high temperatures may occur due to southerly winds interacting with the country’s geography, creating a downslope wind effect. On the eastern mainland, south-southwesterly winds descend from the slopes of the Pindos mountain range, while in northern Crete, they descend from the island’s interior mountain ranges. According to Marousakis, next week’s weather forecast also includes dust transport and the formation of sea fog, a result of the warm, humid air affecting the country.
