Greece and Canada have launched a groundbreaking tourism partnership, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and tackling climate challenges for global growth.

In a historic development, Greece and Canada have formalized their first-ever Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their tourism partnership.

The agreement, signed on Thursday by Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Canada’s Ambassador to Greece, Anna-Karine Asselin, sets the stage for enhanced collaboration in tourism innovation and digital transformation.

The MoU centers on areas such as tourism investments, education, vocational training, and the creation of new tourism products and services. It also emphasizes the importance of research, the sharing of best practices, and the exchange of insights on the global tourism market.

Following the signing, Kefalogianni stressed that the deal highlights both countries’ dedication to promoting a sustainable and forward-thinking tourism model.

The two nations will also collaborate on tackling the challenges posed by climate change, exchanging strategies and expertise to bolster resilience and support long-term sustainable tourism development.
