Mar. 22—BEMIDJI — Headwaters Music and Arts

will host Kitchi Boogie at its scholarship fundraiser concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Headwaters, 519 Minnesota Ave. NW.

Kitchi Boogie is a four-piece roots rock and funk jam band hailing from northern Minnesota featuring Shane Corning on guitar and vocals; Jason Dowell on guitar and vocals; Doug Quance on drums and vocals; and “Papa Steve” Ross on bass.

The band released their self-titled debut album in 2014, followed by “Live 1” in 2019. Kitchi Boogie is currently promoting its 2021 release “Airconditioned Fish House,” featuring both brand-new material and long-time fan favorites, a release said.

Kitchi Boogie will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. after a special opening performance by the Headwaters Adult Rock Band program, who will play covers of a variety of rock songs from the past decades.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with music starting shortly after. An intermission between the two bands will provide time for refreshments and socializing.
