Fans of “Wicked” now can watch the popular 2024 movie adaptation of the Broadway musical and on Peacock.

“GOOD NEWS! #Wickedmovie is now streaming on Peacock,” Peacock said on Instagram. The movie began streaming Friday.

The Oscar-winning movie showcases Cynthia Erivo as “Alphba,” and Ariana Grande as “Glinda,” in the iconic world of Oz. The film was released to theaters in November 2024 and is now available to stream on Peacock with a subscription.

Where can I watch Wicked?

“Wicked” is streaming on Peacock. You can sign up for a subscription online at $7.99 a month (with ads) or the premium-plus plan (without ads) for an additional $6 per month.

The movie is available for rent for $3.99 or purchase for $17.99 on Amazon Prime Video, including the bonus X-ray edition. It is also available Apple TV for rent or purchase.

What is the movie ‘Wicked’ about?

The 2024 movie is an adaptation from the hit Broadway musical that premiered in 2003 with Idina Menzel as “Elphaba” and Kristin Chenoweth as “Glinda.” The musical was based on the 1900 book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” by L. Frank Baum who wrote 14 books over 20 years in the “Oz” series.

The story takes place in the land of Oz at Shiz University before the yellow brick road was yellow.

The movie dives into the story of the witches of Oz: Elphaba, a misunderstood young woman who has yet to discover her true power, and Glinda, a popular young woman who has yet to discover her true heart, Peacock said.
