New alliance set to launch March 27, 2025
Iberia and Aerolíneas Argentinas have launched a strategic partnership that brings Argentina and Spain closer than ever. Starting March 27, 2025, the two airlines will offer expanded connectivity between both countries, giving passengers access to more than 66 destinations with a single booking.
Expanded domestic reach in Argentina
This new codeshare agreement enables seamless connections for transatlantic travelers. Passengers flying with Iberia can now connect beyond Buenos Aires to 37 domestic destinations across Argentina on Aerolíneas Argentinas-operated flights. These include major cities and tourist hotspots such as Córdoba, Mendoza, Bariloche, Mar del Plata, Rosario, Ushuaia, Iguazú, Tucumán, and El Calafate.
More options across Spain for Argentine travelers
Conversely, Aerolíneas Argentinas customers flying to Spain can now reach 29 cities via Iberia flights departing from Madrid-Barajas T4. Key destinations include Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao, Málaga, Granada, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, and Tenerife.
Single booking, smoother journey
With this partnership, travelers enjoy the convenience of a single ticket and one check-in process for their entire journey—from departure to arrival. The agreement streamlines travel between Argentina and Europe, eliminating the need for separate bookings or baggage recheck between connecting flights.
Examples of seamless connectivity
For instance, an Iberia passenger can now fly from Madrid to Bariloche with a smooth connection in Buenos Aires, either through Ezeiza or Aeroparque. Similarly, Aerolíneas Argentinas passengers traveling to Bilbao can check in once in Buenos Aires and reach their final destination via Madrid without hassle.

A boost for tourism and business travel
This alliance marks a significant step in improving transatlantic travel and reinforcing commercial ties between the two nations, offering passengers more options, greater flexibility, and a more connected flying experience.
Fabián Lombardo, President and General Manager of Aerolíneas Argentinas, stated that “this alliance with Iberia is a natural response to our historical cultural and business ties. Argentinians have deep roots in Spain, and this type of agreement will allow us to bring them closer to their origins through a new network of destinations, adding a partner with a high reputation in the market. Additionally, it will allow Iberia passengers to reach the wonderful destinations we have to offer in Argentina.”
For his part, Marco Sansavini, CEO and President of Iberia, highlighted that “we are very proud to announce this alliance with Aerolíneas Argentinas, a company with a long history of service in Latin America. Thanks to this agreement, we will be able to offer our customers the best travel options in a market as relevant as Argentina. From now on, the more than 2,000 people we transport daily in the three daily operations we have between Buenos Aires and Madrid will have at their disposal a complete domestic connectivity network to move comfortably and efficiently through the wonderful country that is Argentina.”
