SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), April 2 (SeeNews) – The number of bank card payments in North Macedonia increased by 14.6% year-on-year in 2024, the central bank said on Wednesday.
The value of completed card payments also rose, by 15.4%, the National Bank of North Macedonia (NBRSM) said in a statement.
The number of merchants accepting card payments grew by 4.4% annually in 2024.
In 2024, an annual increase of 40.2% was recorded in the number of electronic payments, while a decrease of 0.2% was registered in the number of transactions concluded at bank counters, the central bank said.
Mobile app use in electronic payments grew 47.3% in transactions and 72.1% in value annually.
