Kosovo’s acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, has invited members of the UN Security Council to visit Kosovo, see the situation on the ground, and talk to Serbs in the four northern municipalities.
“They tell you how they are now finally feeling free from the pressure of gangs and the threatened crime. From the threats of Mr. Djuric and others. Nothing can replace personal impression. Speak openly. I tell you that you would change your mind immediately,” said Gërvalla-Schwarz.
Regarding the agreement on cooperation in the field of defense between Kosovo – Albania and Croatia, Gërvalla said that this agreement is with two NATO member states and is open to anyone who wants to join.
Regarding the terrorist attack in Banjska carried out on September 24, 2023, Gërvalla-Schwarz said that everything is clear and that there are drone footage and photos.
“They are people appointed by Vučić in Kosovo. He is the former deputy chairman of the Serbian List, a political party controlled by Belgrade and used against Serbs in Kosovo. They are well-known names. He is a person who sits in Belgrade and drinks coffee with the minister you have here. Nothing has changed. The perpetrators are at large. The three Serbs killed during that attack were the perpetrators of the crime… There was armament for more than 400 people. We are not talking about simple weapons,” said Gërvalla.
She said that the attack on the Iber-Lepenc Canal caused 50 percent of Kosovo to suffer and was intended to leave Kosovo without water, electricity, and heating for days.
She said that Serbia, although it has said it will cooperate in the investigation, has not offered any assistance to international investigators.
Regarding the detention of the 16 Serbian “pilgrims,” Gërvalla-Schwarz said that four of them were members of Serbia’s intelligence services and were disguised as pilgrims. She said the case is now in the hands of the judiciary.
Gërvalla-Schwarz, meanwhile, has said that a second Republika Srpska should not be allowed to be created in Kosovo.
And Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, during his speech, warned against the agreement on cooperation in the field of defense between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia, saying that it “undermines peace” in the region.
