SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 11 (SeeNews) – The share indices of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s two stock exchanges, the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) and the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), closed mostly higher this week, compared with the end of the previous week, bourse data showed.

    Total turnover on the SASE jumped to 39.7 million marka ($23.2 million/20.3 million euro) this week from just 88,734 marka a week earlier, boosted by an auction of six-month Treasury bills, in which the finance ministry raised about 39.5 million euro.

    The SASE’s BIFX, which monitors investment funds, lost 0.10% week-on-week to close at 507.03 points on Friday.

    The bourse’s main equity index SASX-10 index rose 0.10% to 1,338.00 points, while the unweighted SASX-30 index edged up 0.27% to finish at 2,377.65 points.

    The SASX-BBI, an Islamic stock index developed in partnership between SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), gained 0.07% to 13,347.28 points.

    The SASX-Fundamentals (SASX-FN) index, tracking the top 15 companies by operating profit, rose 1.14% to end at 23,158.01 points.

    The most traded share on the Sarajevo bourse this week was that of insurer Sarajevo Osiguranje [SAJ:SOSOR], with stock transactions totaling 46,536 marka. The share closed at 13.17 marka on Friday, up compared with 13 marka at the end of the previous week.

    Total turnover on the Banja Luka bourse dropped to 4.4 million marka this week from 74.6 million marka last week, with bonds contributing 4.1 million marka or 93.59% of the total.

    The 12-share BIRS equity index on the Banja Luka bourse went up 0.62% to end at 871.05 points.

    Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-RA] generated the highest trading turnover this week – of 16,005 marka, as its shares closed at 1.13 marka, down 1.74% compared with the end of the previous week.

    The SASE operates in the Federation, whereas the BLSE operates in the Serb Republic. The Federation and the Serb Republic are Bosnia’s two autonomous entities.
