The data come from the balance of the first year of activity of the new medical unit, made with the support of donors and sponsors. The medical unit began to operate on April 16, 2024, that is exactly a year ago.

The balance sheet was presented by the Association “Give Life” and the “Marie S. Curie” Emergency Clinical Hospital in Bucharest.

Thus, between April 2024 – April 2025, over 3,500 patients were treated in the new hospital, and over 4,000 interventions were made in the new operating block. 490 patients were admitted to the Neurosurgery Section, 70% more than the previous year.

In addition, starting with October 2024, the new infrastructure has allowed the first guard line for polytrauma patients in Bucharest.

In the surgery section, relocated to the new building, 1,042 patients were treated, and the oncology section – which can ensure a multidisciplinary approach with oncological diagnosis – has treated over 100 patients, both cases under treatment or observation, as well as new cases.

The hospital also provides state -of -the -art equipment and technology, but also a number of facilities specially designed for children and parents: cinema, a radio studio where radio gives life – both in the hospital and online -, indoor garden, astronomical observer, playground and playgrounds and relaxation.

After the inauguration of the new hospital, part of the Children’s Hospital sections were relocated to the new building "Marie Curie": oncology, neurosurgery, surgery, intensive care, as well as an operating block with 5 operating rooms.

"I built this hospital with the thought of patients, their families and medical staff. We did this with over 350,000 donors natural persons and over 8,000 companies. We are pleased to see the results of our work and medical teams, as well as the impact it has in the lives of children with serious diseases. We are talking about more chances of life and treatment conditions as in Western Europe "said Carmen Ush, founder “Gives Life”, quoted in a statement of the Association.

During the balance sheet conference were presented the development plans for the pediatric medical campus.

"We want the ‘Marie Curie’ hospital to become the first pediatric campus in Romania and a landmark for Southeast Europe and we know that only together we can fulfill this dream"said Oana Gheorghiu, founder gives life.

Felicitari celor care au facut posibila tratarea copiilor la standardele secolului 21 si au oferit personalului medical de la Marie Curie sansa de a practica o medicina normala pentru 2025! Felicitari atat voluntarilor asociatiei cat si donatorilor!
