SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 14 (SeeNews) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it has issued a tender for the design and construction of three solar photovoltaic (PV) plants of Bosnia’s largest power utility Elektroprivreda BiH’s [SAJ:JPES].
Elektroprivreda BiH (EP BiH) will use part of the proceeds from a loan administered by the EBRD for the construction of the Gornja Breza, Visca, and Podvelezje 3 solar plants, the bank said in a statement last week.
The tender will be open until May 26, and will be implemented in two stages.
The Gornja Breza power plant, valued at 22 million marka ($12.8 million/11.2 million euro), will be built on an abandoned landfill of a coal mine in the municipality of Breza.
The Visca solar plant will be built near the city of Zivinice, as part of Elektroprivreda BiH’s plan to to build six PV plants at a degraded mine landfill site owned by its coal mining unit Djurdjevik.
The Podvelezje 3 PV plant, with with an installed capacity of 4.75 MW, will be built on the company’s existing wind farm concession area near the city of Mostar, according to information on the Elektroprivreda BiH’s website.
