Students gather in Northumberland County for Earth Day, exploring environmental stations and planting trees.

KULPMONT, Pa. — It’s Earth Day, and there is a celebration in Northumberland County to mark the occasion.

Students from three different school districts will gather at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex for an event bringing together education and environmental awareness.

First, the students will visit different stations led by environmental experts. Then, they will plant trees around the park’s newly constructed restrooms.

Students from Lourdes Regional, Mount Carmel Area, and Shamokin Area School Districts will be participating in the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
