The Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, in cooperation with Public Forestry Enterprise “Forests of the Republic of Srpska”, annually celebrates International Day of Forests. This year, 2025, following the adopted motto “Forests and Food”, the Academy is organizing lectures entitled “The Use of Forest Dendroflora”, which will be held by Prof. Dr. Jugoslav Brujić, and “Forest Food – Tradition and Future”, which will be held by Tatjana Kunić, B.Sc. Forestry, and Dragana Vukčević, B.Sc. Forestry on March 21, 2025. The aim of these lectures is to highlight the role and importance of food provided by forests as a non-timber product, as well as the significance of their sustainable use.
As part of this year’s celebration of the International Day of Forests, the promotion of the monograph “Circular Economy” will be held, edited by Prof. Dr. Predrag Ilić and Academician Novo Pržulj. The monograph was published within the edition “Natural Resources and Biotechnology”, issued by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska.
The 2025 International Day of Forests event, organized by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, will bring together members of the academic community, students, government representatives, civic associations, media, healthy food producers, and other stakeholders.
