Weather maps from WX Charts show the mercury rising to 25C in parts of south-east England on Thursday, May 1.

That would make it hotter than parts of Spain, such as areas around Malaga, where the temperature is expected to be around 20C at the same time, according to wxcharts.com.

Meanwhile, BBC forecasts predict that the temperature could rise to as high as 25C in London on Thursday.

While in its forecast from Tuesday (April 29) to Thursday, the Met Office predicts a bought of “very warm” weather.

It said: “Patchy rain in the north initially, then dry and settled on Tuesday and Wednesday.
