President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, will undertake her first official visit to Malaysia from May 1 to 4, 2025, since assuming office on April 4, 2021. She will be accompanied by senior officials from the Presidential Cabinet.
The President will be accorded an official welcoming ceremony at the Perdana Putra Complex in Putrajaya, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Both leaders are expected to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges. Regional and international matters, including Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, are also on the agenda.
In honour of President Osmani Sadriu and her delegation, the Prime Minister will host an official luncheon at the Seri Perdana Complex.
Malaysia was among the first countries in Asia to recognise the Republic of Kosovo on Oct 30, 2008. Diplomatic relations were formally established on March 18, 2011.
In 2024, total bilateral trade stood at RM28.55 million, with Malaysian exports to Kosovo amounting to RM25.92 million. Key exports include palm oil, electrical and electronic products, and manufactured goods, while imports from Kosovo mainly consist of raw materials and semi-precious stones.
