COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – With Mother’s Day this coming Sunday, it’s important to encourage our mothers to prioritize taking care of their health.
Dr. Jason Leonard, Chief Medical Officer for Colonial Healthcare in Columbia, spoke with Curtis about some important health tips women can follow.
He encourages women to have an annual checkup with their healthcare provider with screenings to check their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol & more.
He also recommends the following screenings for women of certain age groups:
- Age 40 – 75: Breast Cancer screening
- Age 45 – 75: Colorectal Cancer screening
- Age 65 & up: Osteoporosis screening
- All ages: Domestic Violence screening
- Age 21 – 65: Cervical Cancer screening
