United States shooting itself in the foot when it comes to literally the future frontier of humanity. Like seriously if USA is slow to space it may as well lose its world power status.

“Billions for the hungry, pennies for space” just doesn’t have as much emotional impact.

Seems like a reckless decision just as China is starting to kick their space program into overdrive. Underestimating China’s progress is a dangerous mindset considering the economic and strategic importance of space. Ideally the United States should understand and accept China’s progress and strive to remain ahead.

Is this money only to nasa or overall space programs? The government also contractors companies to do work for them too. We’re seeing the shift from nasa doing all the work to the public sector advancing space everyday

SpaceX is about to be the only viable option for space exploration. What. A. Coincidence.

I wonder how much influence Elon Musk has wielded over this. Tosser.

NASA has wasted hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. Why would we increase their budget??

Lower, yes, but not the “draconian cut” that everything less than a huge increase is labeled as. We can’t afford our spending, so some substantial cuts are required. This seems reasonable. Is NASA’s primary mission still “Muslim Outreach” as Obama proclaimed?
