Spain’s trade deficit widened to €5.48 billion in March 2025, from €2.03 billion in the same month last year.

    Imports jumped 18.3% year-on-year to €39.6 billion, mainly boosted by purchases of raw materials (+25.3%); chemical products (+17.7%); food, beverages & tobacco (+11.5%); manufactured consumer goods (+12.2%) and durable consumer goods (+12.2%).

    Meanwhile, exports rose 8.5% to €34.1 billion.
