  1. I always think these cases are really tricky. For some children, this will be their first and only interaction with the justice system which will have scared them out of their wits. A slap on the wrist and the experience will see that they’ll never step out of line again.

On the other hand, you have the Mizzy types where this is just a continuation, or the start, of something much bigger with them throwing every single chance in the face of the system and the public

  2. Hopefully, for his sake, there is not a video of the incident to counter his denial. That would be terrible for his defense. Some may even say that it is clear evidence that he did it.

They recorded and posted themselves doing it! We should definitely start making social media bans a more common part of the punishment for some crimes. These 2 however need a stay in youth detention, they came so close to inflicting life changing injuries, or worse.

Criminal damage. Bollocks, this was attempted murder. As usual the kid gloves go on.

“It landed just inches away from a man who was in the shopping centre at the time.”

Yes, they caused damage to a £500 seat. But I think the potential harm they could have caused to others was too severe for them to get a slap on the wrist with hope this deters them from further crimes.

Lock them up and send a strong message to other deviants, the UK will not tolerate this social media motivated nonsense.

I completely understand as kids it’s funny to do stupid shit.. but this is insane. They could’ve killed someone and don’t seem to give af

  7. Why do people plead not guilty when there is literal video evidence of them doing the crime?

I’d imagine there lawyer is telling the court that they are aspiring footballers, rappers, they’ve turned their life around etc etc

Im so tired of it all.

Video of it. Needed a translator for the trial. Send them and the family home.

They were criminally reckless and should all face a minimum of 10 years.

I’m sure they’ll get a slap on the wrist and learn their lesson! /s

The hurdle for law is if a reasonable individual could expect someone to be hurt then it elevates the crime. Being stupider than a reasonable individual is no defence.

I guarantee these scumbags will receive less time than someone who tweeted mildly racist hurty words.

These poor excuses of boys should be in prison for 10 years minimum. By sheer luck, they didn’t manage to hurt anyone physically.

  14. Once upon a time Westfield and the Olympic park was kinda cool, a nice place to get bits and spend an afternoon

Now you couldn’t pay me to go there.

  15. I mean for me its attempted murder, from that video it was mere inches away from hitting sombody.

Honestly, I’d like to see “recorded by a mate for social media” added as a general severity modifier for the sentencing of any kind of anti-social behaviour.

    “School boys”

Poor lambs, but I’ll need the media to start running pics of them as 8 year olds non stop to get me to stop wanting any form of justice.

Be really funny if one of the biggest shopping centres had a shitload of CCTV showing them doing it. That would be hysterical.

  19. Hopefully they are charged for this. But I won’t hold my breath. Police are pretty useless.

For me, a few weeks ago a guy threatened to murder me, ran at me and tried to punch me, all unprompted, with witnesses, and the police told me that because it wasn’t on CCTV they can’t do anything.
