Fucking hell. Massive news. Can’t believe it. Gandalf has lost all my respect.

if you asked AI to generate a picture of a creepy pedo, it would be this.

Well, this is how they are selling facial recoginition to the masses. They know their public I will say that.

  4. Great that they caught a pedo, still think facial recognition is a slippery slope though

I certainly don’t understand the bit about the mother being “completely unaware of his offending history”. It’s obviously useful to know this if you can, but generally speaking, don’t leave your 6 year old alone with strange 73 year old men. I’m going to go further, echoing some of the other comments, but certainly not men who look like this guy.

Maybe there is more to the story.

There is definitely something in the subtext here about, “hey, all this facial recognition technology we are deploying without making that much of a big deal about is fucking great isn’t it? Look how it protects the children…”

I am not sure I have the energy to care, but there is certainly a hidden promotion here.

    I don’t mind facial recognition – if you’ve got nothing to hide….

Maybe instead of this being used to push FRT, I could be used to push longer sentences for nonces.

    But no that’s silly.

  10. Quick! Lets put out some stories to distract people from this massive invasion of privacy…
