Me and my Gf rented 20.5 2 mountain bikes from the thecyclist shop and we parked them in the hall of the St. Julians Bay Hotel around 7pm that same day they were locked to the fence and camera of the hotel was looking over them as well, we order food around 11pm midnight the bikes where there when I went out to get the food in the morning around 8-9 am on my GF birthday and our anniversary we went out and saw that they are stolen there was no bikes outside in the hall, the Hotel continued to play dumb they told us the camera is not from the hotel they didn’t try to help us at all we asked the offices in the hotel they told us its 100% from the Hotel we asked the restaurant left from the hotel also told us its Hotel camera, we called the rent a bike we had to pay the 1000e for 2 bikes and that is also kinda weird that they don’t have insurance for the bikes and also how they knew if we had the money to cover that if apparently first time in 20 years that happened to them but okey also went to the police made a report they were at hotel and now they are waiting for the camera footage.
We don’t know what to do now or are we going to get the money back. Its all shady. If you see the bikes brand Bergamont maybe contact me.

Your story is a bit confusing you first write ‘in the hall’, but later ‘outside in the hall’.
Did you call the police? Hotel is full of shit. Cunts are probably in on the theft.
Call the police ask them to come to hotel reception and demand to see their camera footage.
I don’t wish to victim blame, but you’ve made some dumb decisions. Why rent something you don’t know if it’s insured? If they failed to inform you it’s not insured maybe you can contest it legally, but they’ll probably point to the fine print in the agreement.
Also, why would you just leave the bikes in that location. Seems pretty stupid.
Don’t be surprised if the cctv is accidentally wiped.
If it was me I’d cancel the credit card they used in case they decide to collect the full replacement. Then see a lawyer
