Correction successive governments treat them like crap not NHS..

Shocked, stunned that the man who takes money off American Healthcare companies is looking for ways to wedge the doctors against the NHS as a whole.
Lickspittle cunt.

Yes.
Although it’s the UK in 2025. Everyone’s being treated like crap. A majority of people haven’t had a real-terms pay rise in a decade.
Doctors (and firefighters and train drivers) have a lot more clout to resist it so I’m not particularly worried about them. Look, there’s a headline about it.
I’m more worried about the Amazon warehouse workers and the burger flippers who have been treated like crap for decades, and in the modern declining UK are likely to be treated even more like crap, and will never have any clout whatsoever. They don’t tend to get the headlines.

So we are all happy with higher taxes to pay them better right 👍.

I agree that NHS is a crap employer – a friend of mine was interviewed for and accepted a non clinical managers role. I was shocked when she told me about it, basically she was lied to by HR & messed around all over the place. She’s now essentially stuck in a role she doesn’t like for at least a year.
More on topic haven’t junior Drs learned from the last lot of strikes that if you essentially blackmail the NHS when it’s already on its knees you may get what you want in the short term however the NHS will break even more which is not good in long term. Many NHS trusts are having to lay off clinical staff Inc junior Drs now and cut services now as they are so strapped for cash – part of which is down to the eventual pay award given to Drs at the end of last strikes. The phrase ‘shooting themselves in the foot springs to mind”.
I live in Nottingham and at the time of the last strikes my Mum was very ill. She was in & out of A&E and we walked past picket lines with Drs yelling “we care so much about patient care & NHS”. You mean you care about your pay packets..
If they don’t like it they can go to other countries, there are plenty who will happily take their place for less.
The NHS has a sub culture of perceived entitlement amongst some employees, however unfortunately many many in other industries work far harder for far less money.

UK doesn’t train doctors, These people pay to become doctors when they are charged for their education, and then want a wage that reflects their hard work and dedication.
This man is unfit for his position, like most Labour MPs have proven to be unfit for theirs.

It doesn’t help when the current health secretary shits on them and their place of work all the time. He developed a narrative of them vs us when talking about the NHS at the start of tenure. Sounds like he’s done enough brown nosing of right wing media outlets and following Labour’s terrible council elections result is changing course.

The NHS is one of the worst employers, especially for doctors.
Rotas given at very short notice, fighting for leave to attend your own wedding, temporary contracts making mortgages more difficult, nowhere to put your lunch or your bag everyday, nowhere to sit to document patient care, increasing costs to even attend work, endless bottlenecks which halt progression or even employment. The list goes on and on.

The NHS does not care about any of its staff. We sacrifice our own health and our personal lives for poor working conditions and no say in how the service is run. Costs are being cut everywhere and the NHS is no longer a decent place to work. Sure, the pay is not great, but you could live with that if you were not also over-worked and stressed all the time.

At least they only have to do one day a week to pay back their training to go cash in on the private work
